Job Title:        Elementary Assistant Principal

Position:         Exempt

Department:  Administration           

Reports To:    Elementary School Principal

 

 

 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: 

Full-Time, 215 days

 

SUMMARY: 

The Elementary Assistant Principal assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the principal in the supervision of all elementary staff.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree in Education, Indiana Administrative license preferred, and valid Indiana driver's license.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one and small groups of customers, employees, and students.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee is continuously required to meet deadlines with time constraints, interact with the public and other staff.
